RisCassi & Davis, P.C. has won $707,149 as a jury award for a car accident client. The award was actually $32,000 more than our counsel originally requested from the court. Thanks to the strong arguments of Attorney Andrew Groher, though, the jury was moved to approve the larger amount. This case is a great success for our client, who suffered from back injuries and a torn rotator cuff in the crash. With it, he should be able to live and recover more comfortably than he would have had he not pursued legal compensation with our firm’s assistance.
Details of the $707,000 Car Accident Case
Our client was driving through Farmington, his hometown, in May 2016 when he was hit head-on by a 17-year-old driver. The defendant insisted he had a green turn arrow at the time of the crash, but there was no tangible evidence to back his statements. Oppositely, the young driver was cited by the police for failing to yield the right-of-way to our client, which suggests he did not have a green arrow.
The accident caused our client to suffer injuries throughout his body, but his lumbar spine and left rotator cuff were injured the worst. Even after medical treatments and aftercare, he was left with chronic pain, soreness, and debilitations due to his injuries. He also must undergo frequent injection-based treatments to temporarily alleviate some of the pain. Treating physicians have also suggested keeping back surgery and rotator cuff surgeries on the shortlist of possible future treatments.
Knowing that we had to build a strong case for our client, especially because the defendant was so insistent that they had done nothing wrong. We used testimonies from his doctors and his family, who all spoke of the extent of his injury-based limitations. The accident happened more than 5 years ago, but it still heavily impacts his life and happiness.
With those testimonies and the persistence of Attorney Groher, the case was able to reach its outstanding $707,149 jury award conclusion. The defense could try to appeal it, but we are confident they will not due to the lack of any legally recognizable reason to appeal that would stand up in an appellate court.
